The only tour in the Riviera where we look for snakes, spiders and anything crawling around at night
A walking tour at night in the jungle, looking for anything which would be "scary" for the "normal" people :)
The jungle around Cancun and Playa del Carmen has a lot to offer: more than 120 species of reptiles, plenty of amphibians and countless insect and arachnid species.
On a regular trip we can spot different leaf and tree frogs, a few (usually non-venomous) snakes and an incredible variety of insects, spiders, and scorpions. If we are lucky might find coral snakes, boa constrictors and other rare species of snakes.
Private groups upon request
We are the only ones offering a trip like this, and we love it
There is no other company or guide offering tours in the jungle looking for snakes or other awesome stuff, especially not at night.
Probably they are afraid, or they don't think there is a great (financial) potential in this kind of trips. And they are right about the second part but honestly who cares? We love to go out and look for stuff in the jungle, and if we can do it as part of our work - even better!
Barna will be your guide, and he dreamed about this since he was a little kid, so you will not find anybody more enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the topic.
We are also well equipped, have strong flashlights, rain jackets, repellents, first aid kit, venom removal kit, snake handling tools and a sat phone on every trip :)

Rock the jungle at night!
At night the forest floor wakes up, and anything can happen. And if you are brave enough, you will join me in a heroic quest. You will join me in one of my bug-hunts.
You will enter a dark tropical forest not too far from town, but far enough to feel the adrenalin arriving to your system. You know every second of the hunt that you are not alone. Are those noises all come from insects? Let’s hope so, right?
You start your walk following a cleared but not too wide path deeper in the forest meanwhile you inspect every square inch around you with your powerful flashlight. You are looking for movements, or shapes and colors not fitting entirely into their surroundings. You are looking for tarantulas on the ground, and other bigger spiders and scorpions usually on the tree branches. You find real exotic and unique species as well as whip scorpions or scolopendras.
Some reptiles and amphibians prefer this time of the day as well so look out for snakes and frogs. If you are fortunate, you bump into some action as well. Snake hunting or a praying mantis catching a pray, or a gecko catching the mantis. That is right, in the forest, every predator is someone’s prey as well.
You never know what you will find, but you will return to your hotel rooms “safety” with plenty of good pictures and with the memories of some animal species you have never seen before. And after this experience, you don’t need to wonder what is going on in the forest at night. You will know it exactly.
